Recap Aqua Marina Magma test
The Aqua Marina Magma has, despite that it only appeared in2016 on the market, already has built up a good reputation. The board is in the top 5 best selling boards of Aqua Marina and that says a lot of course. After the incredible success of its brother, the Aqua Marina Fusion (check out the test here) this board does not disappoint either.
The color and the pattern are rather personal, but it is sure that this is a board of extremly high quality. This board is best suited for beginners who have up to five years of experience. This product is also best for touring. You can easily splash around on your favorite lake on this board for several hours. You can also use it on slightly more restless water, but we advise you not to buy this board if you really want to defy wild water.
We rate this board a little lower than the Fusion because of the price difference and the accessability. The board is slightly harder in use than for example the Aqua Marina Atlas or the Fusion.
- Great value for money.
- Upon purchase you get a complete package so you do not have to incur extra costs to start.
- Suitable for both quiet and slightly wilder water.
- The kickpad on the back ensures that you have more grip and more speed.
- With only 18.7 lbs it is really a lightweight.

The Supboard-99 Aqua Marina Magma test
We already had high expectations of this Aqua Marina model at the start. Because it soon became known that this would become the brother of the Aqua Marina Fusion, we already knew a little what to expect.
We have seen Fusion for years as one of the best SUP boards of Aqua Marina. Because we also had the Fusion with us, we could compare these SUP boards 1 on 1. The Magma is a bit more expensive than the Fusion, but is this justified?
Let's put it first: the Magma is an incredibly nice board to get on the water with. The weight difference of 2.6 lbs is noticeable when lifting the board.
When on the water you notice that the SUP is more agile and also a bit faster. The Magma has a kick pad at the back of the SUP.
This means that the board is slightly raised at the end, so you have more grip and you can create more speed at the start. These are nice extras and we soon noticed that we made a lot of use of these.
Did you know that you can easily drive over a SUP board with a big truck, without anything happening?

The Aqua Marina Magma is an inflatable SUP board. On several pages on our websites we have already discussed but here again the benefits compared to a hard board:
- Easy to take on holiday (even on the plane)
- Easy to store in the winter days
- Much cheaper
- Technology has improved greatly over the past 10 years. For this reason, these boards are now almost impossible to distinguish from hard boards
- The disadvantages of an inflatable board are that less speed can be achieved and that the inflatable boards are more suitable for beginners and less advanced SUP boarders.
Did you know that you can inflate this board within 5 to 10 minutes?
We often get questions about the difference between the Aqua Marina Atlas, the Aqua Marina Fusion and the Aqua Marina Magma. These boards are in the same price range but they do differ.
We do not make any statements about the design, because of course this is very personal. Determine for yourself which board you like and which appeals to you the most.
The Fusion and Atlas are models that have been around for several years and are constantly being improved.
In 2016 the Magma has been added to the family. This board has a kickpad at the back of the board. Here you can place your foot, so the front of the board tilts up slightly. This way you can make SUP boarding a bit more difficult and adventurous.
All three boards are 5.9" thick and therefore extra strong.
The board has also been made slightly lighter due to new techniques, which will result in more speed. You prefer the Aqua Marina Magma over the Atlas if you are looking for more of a challenge and speed. Note: the board is therefore more difficult to use.
The Fusion is quite different than the Atlas. It uses the same technology, but the design and colour are very different. But the main reason why the Fusion is cheaper is the size of the board.
The board is 1.7' shorter and 3.1" less wide. On the water you can also perfect go out on the Aqua Marina Fusion, that is why we are very enthusiastic about this SUP in the Aqua Marina Fusion test.
Looking for a less expensive board that is 4.7" thick? Check out the Aqua Marina Vapor test
